Care that keeps frames and lenses performing
Clean lenses, tighten screws, and check nose pads with a steady routine. These practical habits protect coatings, alignment, and comfort over the life of your glasses.
Daily protocol
A four-step lens cleaning routine
Follow these steps each day to avoid micro-abrasions and coating delamination. Gentle, consistent handling matters more than strong products.
01 Rinse
Rinse lenses under lukewarm running water to loosen dust and grit before any contact.
02 Lather
Apply a drop of mild, pH-neutral soap and rub both sides with fingertips, never with cloth.
03 Rinse again
Rinse thoroughly so no soap residue remains on the coating or in the hinges.
04 Air dry
Shake off droplets and let air dry, or pat gently with a clean microfiber cloth.
For a deeper clean, an ultrasonic bath loosens debris from frame joints and lens edges. Use lukewarm water and a mild solution, keep cycles short, and never submerge frames with loose parts or damaged coatings.
Frame care
Protect the mechanics of your frame
Heat and storage
Keep acetate frames away from hot dashboards and radiators. Heat can warp temples, so store glasses in a hard case when not worn.
Screws and hinges
Check screws every few weeks with a small screwdriver. Tighten gently, since over-tightening can strip the threads or crack the frame.
Nose pads
Clean nose pads regularly to limit oil buildup, and replace them when they crack, slip, or leave marks on the skin.
Acetate temples benefit from occasional care with a damp cloth. When a frame sits badly, pinches, or sits off-center, a professional bench adjustment by a qualified optician is the right step.
